Gastronome is a meal planning application that recommends meal and diet plans based on user preference. Gastronome aim to encourage people to lead healthier lives, starting from changing their diets. Our recipes range from being easy to those that require techniques - catering to everyone. As the application developer of Gastronome, this website is a blog of the application development process of Gastronome.

TECHNOLOGIES
For the Android Application
ANDROID STUDIO
Android Studio is the development environment my team and I used to code out Gastronome's Android application. As Android Studio is the official integrated development environment for Google's Android operating system, designed specifically for Android development. It was the most appropriate software used for Gastronome's Android application.
JAVA
Java is the main programming language used for the back-end development of the Android application as it can be written using an Android Studio's IDE. Also, as it is a class-based and object-oriented language, it will be able to communicate with Firebase efficiently.
FIREBASE
Gastronome's back-end database uses Firebase. As Firebase is a mobile and web development platform, Firebase will be able to communciate with Gastronome's Android application as well as Gastronome's web application.
